'Saving Eliza' GoFundMe site breaks record

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

This story could be called awesome news!

Eliza O'Neill's GoFundMe site has set a record with more than $845,000 raised and it's all thanks to her generous supporter's worldwide.

Eliza is battling a rare degenerative disease called Sanfilippo Syndrome Type A.

The next step is funding the actual clinical trial by October.

That final push to raise another $1 million is underway, with a new video documenting the kindness of complete strangers.
