Deputies: Search underway for 3 suspects after attempted robberies overnight

A search is underway for three men in Richland County after deputies say a person was shot in an attempted robbery Wednesday morning.

Columbia Police, Richland County Sheriff's deputies, South Carolina Highway Patrol troopers and K-9 officers are out near Leesburg Road trying to locate three men. After the robbery, officers pursued a vehicle and the chase ended when the men jumped out of the car on Leesburg Road.

One person was arrested. According to Richland County Sheriff's Department spokesperson Sgt. Curtis Wilson, 27-year-old Traimane Anderson is being charged with attempted murder, armed robbery, and kidnapping.

According to the Richland County Sheriff's Department, shots were fired after the four men attempted to rob two people at the Hunters Way Apartments on Percival Road. Preliminary information provided by the sheriff's department said the robberies occurred at two separate locations.

An 18-year-old man and woman were robbed as they were walking on a street. One victim was shot. The condition of the victim has not been released.

Investigators have not yet provided a detailed description of the three suspects.
