800-pound alligator hit, killed by vehicle on Dare Co. highway

DARE COUNTY, N.C. -

An 800-pound alligator was hit by a vehicle Sunday night in Dare County.

WAVY.com reports that the alligator was killed just before midnight on Highway 64 in Dare County.

The gator was 12 feet 4 inches long and weighed at least 800 pounds.
