Wreath laying at Fort Jackson National Cemetery

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - A Memorial Day wreath laying ceremony to honor the nation's fallen was held at the Fort Jackson National Cemetery Monday.

Fort Jackson commander Brig. Gen. Bradley Becker spoke. Brig. Gen. David Coburn of the U.S. Army Central at Shaw Air Force Base, also attended.

The public was invited to attend the program, which included an invocation, a rifle salute and taps played by the 282nd Army Band.

The 585-acre national cemetery is located northeast of Columbia at 4170 Percival Road.

It is open daily from daily from sunrise to sunset.
