Driver charged in accident where car collided with bus

The driver that collided with the rear end of a Lexington-Richland School District Five school bus Thursday morning has been charged with driving too fast for conditions, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

School district spokesman Mark Bounds the bus was at a stop light on St. Andrews Road when the car crashed into the bus' rear end.

Bounds says none of the 33 children on board the bus were injured and were immediately transported to Irmo Middle School by another bus.

The parents of the children were also notified.

As for the driver of the vehicle, there is no word on if there were any injuries.
