LEXINGTON, SC (WIS) -

The Lexington Police Department says a missing 85-year-old man was found Thursday morning driving down Interstate 26.

Officials say Lawrence August of Lexington was pulled over by a South Carolina Highway Patrol trooper.

At approximately 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, August left his residence in a maroon in color 2009 Chevrolet Malibu with a South Carolina license plate EFS-586, stating he was going to Rhode Island.

Police say August suffers from advanced Alzheimer's disease and has other medical conditions which require daily medications and assistance.

August has not lived in Rhode Island since 1981. Prior to moving to Lexington, he resided in Florida until 2006.
