LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC (WIS) -

A 23-year-old man allegedly stabbed to death in a fight in Lexington County was arrested in connection with a January shooting in Richland County.

Jamie Galloway was killed Tuesday after investigators believe he fought with 17-year-old Nicholas Berry, AKA Nicholas Benjamin Chhith.

Around 9:00 p.m., the Pine Ridge Police Department, along with the Lexington County Sheriff's Department and several other assisting agencies, were called to 444 Dogwood Road for a report of a stabbing.

When they arrived, witnesses said Galloway had been stabbed by Berry.

The Lexington County Coroner's Office ruled Galloway died as a result of stab wounds to his back.

Galloway was arrested in January in Aiken County and charged with two counts of attempted murder. Investigators say the shooting was the result of a domestic incident.

Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott said Galloway was arguing with his estranged girlfriend when a female friend tried to intervene and Galloway shoved her. Then the two victims stepped in and they were shot.

Witnesses and family members told deputies Galloway fled to a relative's home in Aiken County, where he was arrested without incident.

Berry, meanwhile, was arrested and charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime in connection with Galloway's death.
