Dry stretch heading to the holiday

Posted: Updated:

Holiday weekend plans are in full swing for much of the nation as we approach Memorial Day, and locally, the forecast couldn't look better.  High pressure takes over the southeast leaving us with mainly dry and sunny weather for the next set of days.  Temperatures are forecast to be above average for the this week and into the weekend, but with a comfortably warm feel for Sat/Sun/Mon for the holiday.

Today:  Mostly sunny, highs reaching the low 80s Upstate and upper 70s in Western NC.  A gusty wind from the southwest is expected to develop this afternoon, up to 20mph.

Wednesday:  Mostly sunny & HOT!  Highs reach new 90 in the Upstate, and mid-80s in the mountains.

Thursday:  Partly cloudy, dry in the Upstate with a slight chance for a mountain shower.  Highs again reach the mid-80s to low-90s.

Friday:  Partly cloudy, dry in the Upstate with a slight chance for a mountain shower.  Highs in the 80s.

Saturday/Sunday:  Mostly sunny, mid-80s Upstate, upper 70s in the mountains.
