Fight erupts at San Gennaro Feast causing havoc

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Police responded to a large group of juveniles engaging in numerous fights throughout the carnival of the San Gennaro Feast at about 11 p.m. Saturday. Police say someone mentioned a gun and it erupted into everyone running and everything got out of control in a short period of time.

When FOX5 arrived on scene, there was a crowd of hundreds of juveniles in the parking lot. The crowd was getting rowdy and police moved in to disperse them. During this time, people in the crowd were throwing rocks and bottles at officers.

Witnesses say they saw a large group of kids running around back and forth inside the festival and heard someone yell "gun." This witness saw fights as well and cops handcuffing a group of girls.

Another witness tells FOX5 she saw masses of people running and it was chaos. She said she feared for her safety and the safety of her children.
