FOUNTAIN INN, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Greenville County Coroner has identified a 10-year-old boy who died after collapsing during baseball practice.

Deputy Coroner Kent Dill said it happened Thursday evening at  Woodside Park in Fountain Inn. The coroner said Michael Patrick Blake, of Fountain Inn, was participating in a youth baseball team practice when he suddenly collapsed to the ground and became unresponsive at about 8 p.m.

According to Dill, several off-duty medical professionals were at the park and immediately began treatment. The coroner said the boy was transported to the Pediatric Emergency Department at Greenville Memorial Hospital, where he died a short time later.

An autopsy was performed on Friday. Dill said the cause and manner of death is pending microscopic studies.

The incident is being investigated by the Fountain Inn Police Department and the Greenville County Coroner's Office.

A prayer for Blake was said at his team's game on Friday.
