Threat remains for severe weather on Wednesday

Parts of South Carolina could be slammed by severe thunderstorms Wednesday as a strong front moves into the state and parts of the southeast.

However, we still do have the isolated risk of strong thunderstorms this afternoon with a lake wind advisory in place until 6 p.m. and highs in the lower/mid 80s.

Tonight, expect only a few widely scattered showers and lows in the 60s.

The cold front will become stationary just off the coast to finish the week.  For you, this means partly to mostly cloudy skies both Thursday and Friday and isolated showers mainly south of Columbia. Highs will be in the lower 80s Thursday and return to the 70s Saturday.

The First Alert weather team will keep an eye on things during the day.

As always, you can check the latest forecast on our weather page. Stay tuned over the course of the next 24 hours.
