Authorities investigating two homicides overnight


Authorities are investigating after two people were killed overnight in Richland County.

Richland County sheriff's deputies responded to the 100 block of South Parker Street around 9:30 p.m. Friday after a verbal fight turned physical.

Deputies say a victim was stabbed multiple times and later died at a hospital.

A suspect is in custody. No names have been released.

A second homicide happened around 4 a.m. Saturday in Eastover on McCord's Ferry Road.

Deputies say a woman suffered multiple blunt force trauma to her upper body and died.

Deputies have arrested a man in Lake City in connection with the Eastover homicide and are in the process of bringing him back to Richland County.

A name has not been released.
