Police release photos of vehicle suspected in hit-and-run

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

Columbia police have released photos of a vehicle wanted in a hit-and run on Monticello Road that sent a pedestrian to the hospital Friday.

Police were called around 10 p.m. to the 4000 block of Monticello Rd.

Police said a man was walking southbound, crossing over Monticello Rd.

A vehicle was traveling westbound in the same roadway when the driver hit the pedestrian and left the scene.

The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital with injuries. The victim's condition is not known.

Columbia Police Department's Traffic Safety Unit is looking for a four-door, gray or silver older model vehicle, possibly a Toyota Camry with significant front end damage on the driver's side. Surveillance photos of a vehicle police are looking for in connection with the hit-and-run are attached to this story.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers at 888-CRIME-SC or text CRIME at (274637), and mark the beginning of the message with "TIPSC," followed by the tip information.
