The popular free concert series Live on the Green is coming back for a sixth year, but the format will be a little different for 2014.
The concerts will run for four straight Thursdays, beginning Aug. 14 and wrapping up with a three-day festival Sept. 4 through 6.
So even though the concerts are spread over fewer weeks, there will be just as many nights of music as in years past.
"It's a hugely popular event, and there's nothing better on a late summer/early fall evening than to sit outside and listen to live music in front of the downtown courthouse. It just works there," said Nashville Mayor Karl Dean.
Organizers are promising a bigger production, more food options and a larger area covering Deaderick Street to Fourth Avenue North.
The lineup for this year's Live on the Green concerts won't be revealed until June, but organizers say, like always, they will include a mix of hot new acts as well as musical legends.
