CAMDEN, SC (WIS) -

Camden police arrested a woman after a group of girls found a loaded .45-caliber pistol inside the bathroom of a fast food restaurant.

Police arrested 45-year-old Robin Lei Albert and charged her with unlawful carrying of a weapon.

According to the incident report, the weapon, a Glock 30, was found inside the women's bathroom of the Chick-fil-A on West Dekalb Street shortly before 4 p.m. on April 16.

Jim Ballard was there with his friend and their children.

"Just because a person is a defender of Second Amendment rights, I don't believe the person should not follow the law," Ballard said.

As Ballard ordered milkshakes, he said a group of the kids went to the bathroom.

"And as soon as they went into the door, my buddy that I was with -- his two daughters immediately came right back out the door and said, 'Daddy, there's a gun in the bathroom stall,'" Ballard said. "We had to ask them a couple of times, because we just couldn't believe what they were saying."

Ballard and his friend found the gun on a toilet paper dispenser with a bullet in the chamber and many more in the magazine.

The gun had no safety switch.

"An unscrupulous individual could have picked that up and used it during the commission of a crime," Ballard said. "That was a very dangerous situation. That situation could have led to an inadvertent death."

The restaurant called police and officers safely removed it.

Ballard said he's thankful things happened as they did.

"I shudder to think what could have happened if someone unfamiliar with weapons -- what would have transpired," Ballard said.

Camden Police Chief Joe Floyd says Albert went back to the restaurant looking for her gun after she realized it was gone.

Investigators told her that the police department had it and she went there to retrieve it. Floyd says she was very concerned and apologetic.

Officials say Albert did not have a current concealed weapons permit.
