Pratt City to hold special tornado anniversary events April 26

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

The Pratt City Library, along with the City of Birmingham and Mayor's Office, will commemorate the third anniversary of the 2011 tornado that severely damaged homes and buildings in Pratt City.

On Saturday, April 26, Pratt City will mark the anniversary with music, free workshops, a children's craft table and free copies of the "Voices From the Storm" anthology. Events will start at 8:30 a.m. with a continental breakfast.

Councilor Marcus Lundy Jr. will be hosting an emergency preparedness workshop with HandsOn River Region at 9 a.m.

At 11 a.m., a seminar on estate planning will be presented by the City of Birmingham in partnership with Legal Services of Alabama.

Free one-on-one estate planning appointments with Legal Services of Alabama will take place from noon to 1:15 p.m.

The Pratt City Library reopened in February with a newly added storm shelter. It's located at 509 Dugan Avenue.
