Services for teen who died in boating accident announced

ROSSFORD, OHIO (WIS) The South Carolina teen who died in a boating accident while visiting family in Ohio will be remembered at a service Monday in Rossford, Ohio, according to the Sujkowski Funeral Home of Rossford.

Paige Erin-Marie Widmer, 16, of Leesville, SC and three others were fishing in Lake Erie when their boat capsized on April 17. Two men remain missing.

Paige was a junior at Pelion High School in Pelion, SC where she was involved in many activities including volleyball, track, Hosa, sports medicine, choir, Honors choir and was a member of the student council.

For the past year, Paige was employed at Shumperts IGA in Pelion as a cashier. She was a member of the Fairview Community Church where she was very active. Paige also had a love for the outdoors where she enjoyed fishing, hiking, camping, swimming and tubing.

Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family and friends. Paige was always a giving person and would take the time to help the elderly with their gardening, help feed the homeless and always donated to the needy.

A memorial service will also be held in Pelion, SC at the Pelion High School Gymnasium on Wednesday, April 30 at 5 p.m. Interment will be private.
