Feds award Charlotte $3 million grant to prepare against terrorist attack

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

The city of Charlotte has been awarded an anti-terrorism grant from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to help the city prepare and prevent terror attacks.

The $3 million grant was applied for on behalf of the city by the Charlotte Fire Department.

Charlotte is the only area in the state recognized as a high threat/high density area at highest risk for a terrorist incident, according to Homeland Security.

The city has discretion on how the money is to be used.
