Attempted armed robbery reported near USC campus

Columbia police are looking for information about an attempted armed robbery.

It happened just after 1 a.m. Sunday in the 700 block of Pickens Street.

Police say a man was approached by three men in a white four-door sedan.

One of the suspects reportedly got out of the car with a gun.

The victim told police he ran as soon as he saw the gun.

Police are looking for three men. One suspect was wearing a black shirt and jeans. Another was wearing a white jacket with a New York hat.

The men drove away from the scene toward Gervais Street.

There was no description given of the third suspect.

Nothing was taken and no injuries were reported.
