LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC (WIS) -

Interstate 26 is clear after two incidents involving tractor-trailers in Lexington County.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, an eastbound truck carrying two large tires lost its load near the Old Dunbar Road overpass, which is in the vicinity of mile marker 114.

Witnesses say the tires came to rest in the east and westbound lanes.

The first collision caused a metal pipe to be dislodged from the overpass. That pipe lodged into the top of another eastbound trailer, which caused it to stop under the overpass.

The right lane of the interstate was closed while crews clean up.

Troopers say the roadway was to be cleared by 2:30 p.m.
