Crews clear scene after bomb threat forces courthouse evacuation, street closure

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

Emergency crews have cleared the area around the City of Columbia courthouse after finding no evidence of a bomb.

The building had been evacuated along with the church next door after a bomb threat was called in around 10:00 a.m. 

According to the Columbia Police Department, two calls threatening calls were made to the courthouse.

Employees at the courthouse and those who have business were allowed back into the building just after noon.

Washington Street was closed between Park and Gadsden streets while officers searched the building.
