Garner officials believe shot being fired was a suicide

Police rushed to a Garner home Monday morning after a deputy heard a shot being fired inside the residence in what police are saying was a suicide.

Garner police said a realtor and a deputy were attempting to complete an eviction at 104 Dunnsbee Ct. when they heard shots fired. This prompted to officer to quickly exit the home with the realtor.

The deputy called for backup, and a SWAT team rushed to the scene to surround the home.

After some time of silence, and being unable able to make contact with the man inside the home, the Wake Count Sheriff's Office sent a robot in to search the residence.

Garner police said the robot found a middle-aged man dead from a a single gunshot wound to the head.
