This weekend you have a chance to see the wealth of diversity living in your own backyard.

Dozens of nationalities are represented at the 19th annual Columbia International Festival.

This year's focus is -- Brazil: the largest South American country and the world's 8th largest economy.

The festival showcases music, culture, food and performing arts at the State Fairgrounds.

"It's a very cultural event, very colorful, indoor, food to eat, entertainment to watch, booths to see, talk to people, many cultures under one roof, it's a great celebration of our diversity," said director Raj Aluri.

And it serves to bring together all of the area's international communities to build a better community, better race relations and foster unity between all the groups within South Carolina.

You still have time to check out all the culture and activities.

The festival is open Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.
