LEXINGTON, SC (WIS) -

As he fights to get Emma's Law passed in the state legislature, David Longstreet says he's started a write-in campaign for a seat on Lexington Town Council.

Longstreet, the father of Emma Longstreet, the 6-year-old who was killed in a DUI car crash in 2012, says he may be busy with Emma's Law, but he's game for the seat.

"I want to serve the residents of Lexington," he said in a text message to supporters.

Longstreet is campaigning for the seat once held by Councilman Danny Frazier, the former council member who resigned in January.

Lexington town residents head to the polls on April 8.
