COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

Four men were arrested after a vehicle collision and foot chase in north Columbia Friday.

An officer was on routine patrol in the area of Fairfield Road when he initiated a lawful traffic stop, Columbia police said.

Dominique Jamar McKie, 17, Alvin Anderson, 18, Devonte Anderson, 19, and a juvenile were arrested on several charges including failure to stop for police and possession of a stolen vehicle.

Police said McKie did not stop for police blue lights and proceeded to drive at the intersection of Monticello Road at Interstate 20 when he collided with another vehicle, a Richland County Recycling and Solid Waste Management truck.

The driver of the county vehicle did not appear to have life threatening injuries, but was transported to a local hospital by EMS, police said.

Police said the driver and three other people are accused of getting out of the wrecked vehicle that was reported stolen out of Richland County, and tried to run away from the scene.

Police said they set up a perimeter in the area and requested that a K9 team assist in the search for the other suspects.

During the search, officers located clothing, a cell phone and a green leafy substance that field-tested positive for marijuana, police said.

Two of the suspects are validated gang members, police said.
