GARDENDALE, AL (WBRC) -

Authorities chased and caught three suspects in a stolen vehicle after a man robbed a Dollar General in Gardendale on Wednesday night.

Gardendale Police Lt. Bryan Lynch said a white male, armed with a handgun, took money from the register at the Dollar General in the 2200 block of Mt. Olive Road. The man did not fire any shots and no one was injured in the robbery, which happened around 9:14 p.m.

Authorities later spotted the robbery suspect's truck on I-65 South near Daniel Payne Drive and a pursuit ensued. A man and a woman were passengers in the truck, along with the robbery suspect. The suspects started throwing money out of the truck while they were being chased, Lt. Lynch said.

The chase ended when the two of the truck's tires blew because of the suspect's driving. Officials caught the suspects and took two men and one woman into custody. They also learned that the truck the suspect was driving was stolen out of Blount County.

Conrad Alan Carroll, of Graysville, was charged with first degree robbery and first degree receiving stolen property. He is being held in the Jefferson County Jail on a $90,000 bond.

The other two people are being held for felony investigations involving other police jurisdictions, Gardendale Police Chief William Walker said. Their names were not released.
