MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

Would you strip down and bare it all while trying to prove your survival techniques? What about trying to find food while being bitten alive? One Montgomery stay-at-home mom did just that when she competed on Discovery Channel's reality show, Naked and Afraid.

Amanda Kaye, also known as AK, jumped at the chance to be on the show.

The show's premise is to take "survival of the fittest" to the next level. The show pairs strangers, a male and a female, and strands them in the Amazon. The naked duo must then learn how to survive for 21 days without being provided water, food or clothing.

Kaye, said it wasn't the nakedness that drew her to the show. "I can go out there and survive," she explained. She is more than capable of doing just that since she was raised in a family that performs living history, learning to survive in and around the year 1812 to be able to show and teach the public how Native Americans survived without any modern tools.

"It was extremely awkward," AK said meeting her naked partner for the first time, "but it didn't take long to get over the naked part because you're more focused on what you need to do and what has to be done to be able to survive."

What's the prize for winning and what was the one thing AK was allowed to bring from home? Watch the video to find out: http://bit.ly/1gGgqIs
