Man charged with murder after argument over bottle of liquor

SUMTER COUNTY, SC (WIS) -

A 26-year-old man died after being shot during an argument over liquor Tuesday night, according to the Sumter County Sheriff's Office.

The incident happened at 12 Murphy Street around 11 p.m..

Deputies called to the home found Shamarr Howell dead on the front porch.

The suspect,Jeffrey Andrews, was there and admitted to officers that he shotHowell, investigators said.

Witnesses said Howell and Andrews were arguing over a bottle ofliquor when Howell was shot.

Andrews was placed under arrest and takento the Sumter-Lee Regional Detention Center.

He is charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

    Surveillance cameras captured someone opening fire at a gas station in Jasper. Police are looking for one of the people they said opened fire on Friday night, while the other is still in a hospital.
