TALLASSEE, AL (WSFA) -

Tallassee police say a suspect has been arrested in two attempted robberies Tuesday night.

Police are still searching for two other suspects in an unrelated armed robbery at Dollar General that also happened Tuesday night. Police released surveillance images of all of the suspects Wednesday afternoon.

Bobby Edwin Ballard Jr., is accused of impersonating a law enforcement officer and attempting to rob Acapulco Mexican Grill Tuesday night.

A worker there, who asked not to be named in our story, said the suspect came in, ordered food and had several drinks, even telling the waitress he was an undercover cop. But when he went to pay he threatened to shoot the cashier if he didn't hand over the cash. Someone inside the restaurant called police, and the suspect fled on foot.

While Tallassee police officers were canvassing the area, they received a second call about the same man trying to take a vehicle from an elderly woman in the parking lot of the nearby Wal-Mart, according to Tallassee Police Chief Jimmy Rodgers.

When officers arrived on the scene at Wal-Mart, the man fled into the woods. K-9 units from Tallassee and Kilby Correctional Facility were involved in the search for the suspect Tuesday night.

During the search for the attempted robbery suspect, the police department received a call at 9 p.m. about an armed robbery on the east side of Tallassee.

Rodgers says two men armed with handguns entered the Dollar General on Notasulga Road and forcibly removed cash from the register. The suspects fled on foot. Police described the men as black males. One of the suspects was reportedly wearing a black hoodie and Chicago Bulls Starter jacket.

Rodgers says it doesn't appear the two incidents Tuesday night are related.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Tallassee Police Department at 334-283-6586 or the secret witness line at 334-283-3683.
