COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

A man charged with attempted murder and kidnapping dared Richland County Sheriff's deputies to shoot him during his arrest Tuesday night, according to the Richland County Sheriff's Department.

Trevor Robinson, 28, was arrested around 10:30 p.m. at a residence on High Gate Court in Dentsville.

Investigators say Robinson stabbed a female victim several times during an argument and would not allow her to leave the home. Officials say the two had been living together for a year when this incident occurred.

Eventually, according to deputies, the victim escaped the home and called 911 at a neighbor's house.

There's no word on the current condition of the victim.

In the mean time, Robinson was transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center to await a bond hearing.
