SUMTER COUNTY, SC (WIS) -

A man was arrested after deputies say he fired several shots at a nightclub, killing one man and injuring another early Sunday morning.

Lt. Robert B. Burnish with the Sumter County Sheriff's Office said deputies responded to shots being fired at Club Miami, located at 4888 Broad Street Extension.

When they arrived, deputies found 33-year-old Tyrus Archie on the ground in the parking lot unresponsive, with a gunshot wound to the chest, Burnish said.

Burnish said Rayquann Mondell Jenkins, 26, was also located in the parking lot with a gunshot wound to his leg.

The Sumter County coroner pronounced Archie dead at the scene.

Deputies were told by witnesses what the shooter was wearing and that he was running in a field adjacent to Club Miami, Burnish said.

Deputies located the man after a foot chase and identified him 31-year-old Rodney Rodriuguz Green.

Green was transported to the Sumter County Sheriff's Office where he was interviewed by investigators, and then taken to the Sumter-Lee Regional Detention Center on a murder charge.

A bond has not been set.
