Offenders caught breaking curfew in Five Points will be detained

Posted: Updated:
COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

With 40,000 people expected in Five Points for the St. Patrick's Day party Saturday, several law enforcement agencies are reminding kids in the Juvenile Court system to obey their 9 p.m. curfew.

South Carolina Department of Corrections Director Bryan Stirling partnered his agency with Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott last November when juvenile offenders were found in Five Points breaking curfew after a college football game.

The Department of Corrections asked Columbia Police and RCSD to detain anyone listed as a Youthful Offender who is found in Five Points after 9 p.m. Saturday.
