6 arrested in meth lab bust

LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC (WIS) -

Officers with the Lexington County Multi-Agency Narcotics Enforcement Team (NET) on Wednesday, seized a methamphetamine laboratory that was being operated at a home on Seleta Circle near Lexington.

Officers arrested five men and one woman on charges that they operated the methamphetamine laboratory that officers found at the home.

Joe Cecil Clark, 19, Charles Walter Huggins, IV, 24, Lakisha Rachelle Shealy, 18, Carl William Smith, 45, Terry Wayne Smith, Sr., 59, and Terry Wayne Smith, Jr., 34 are facing several durg charges.

Officers arrested Clark and Shealy on charges of manufacturing methamphetamine, possessing methamphetamine and simple possession of marijuana, Lexington County Sheriff Jame R. Metts said.

Officers arrested Carl Smith, Terry Wayne Smith, Sr., and Terry Wayne Smith, Jr., on charges of manufacturing methamphetamine and improperly disposing of waste from a methamphetamine laboratory and Huggins was arrested on a charge of manufacturing methamphetamine.

Around 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, NET officers went to a home in the 200 block of Seleta Circle in order to investigate a tip that methamphetamine actively was being manufactured at the residence, Metts said.

Carl Smith, Terry Wayne Smith, Sr., and Terry Wayne Smith, Jr., live at the home. Officers found one reaction vessel at the residence that actively was being used to manufacture methamphetamine.

Clark is being held at the Lexington County Detention Center on bail totaling $10,620, Metts said.

Shealy is being held at the county detention center on bail totaling $3,620. Huggins was being held on a $5,000 bond. Carl Smith, Terry Wayne Smith, Sr., and Terry Wayne Smith, Jr., each were being held on bail totaling $10,000 for each man.
