COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

Authorities say they arrested a man wanted in connection with a fatal shooting at a Columbia club earlier this week.

CD Cash, 30, was arrested Friday without incident and charged with murder, Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott said.

On Thursday deputies responded to Club Bananas around 1:30 a.m. Once there, they found the victim, 34-year-old Luther Jermaine Mitchell, lying in the parking lot with several gunshots to the upper body. He was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS.

Lott said the incident stemmed from an earlier confrontation between a woman and an acquaintance of Cash after the female accused Cash's friend of breaking into her vehicle.

Cash got involved in an argument between an acquaintance who he was with at the club and the woman, Lott said.

Mitchell, who was an acquaintance of the woman, tried to intervene to calm the situation, when Cash pulled a pistol and shot the victim, who was unarmed and was not acting in any sort of aggressive manner, Lott said.

Cash is currently being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
