COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

A "bold and violent" offender wanted by the Richland County Sheriff's Department for multiple crimes, including a murder charge, was arrested without incident in Norfolk, Virginia.

Sheriff Leon Lott says 23-year-old Stanley Jones was arrested in a hotel thanks to tips from the community.

Jones has been connected to at least seven incident since December 2013 when he was released on bond following an armed robbery in Forest Acres.

Since then, Jones was identified as the prime suspect in a murder at a home on Brookfield Road on Feb. 4. Investigators said Jones entered the home in an attempt to steal drugs and money from the resident, but he ended up shooting the suspect and fleeing the scene.

Jones' charges in that case were upgraded to murder after the victim died from his wounds almost three weeks later.

Jones will also be charged with three counts of armed robbery, two counts of kidnapping, assault, and burglary in at least three jurisdictions.

Lott says will be extradited back to Richland County where he will be placed in the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
