KERSHAW COUNTY, SC (WIS) - An arrest warrant in the murder case of an 18-year-old Kershaw County woman indicates surveillance video shows her getting into a car with the lone suspect shortly before she was killed.
The suspect, 21-year-old Stephen Kelly, told investigators he was the last person to see Briana Rabon alive, but could not account for her whereabouts after that, according to the warrant.
Kids riding ATVs found her body on February 26 in a wooded area behind Haig's Creek Subdivision in Elgin. The coroner later said she was strangled to death.
Physical evidence collected at the crime scene, the location where Rabon's body was found, and from Kelly's vehicle in addition to forensic evidence implicates Kelly in the crime, according to the warrant.
Two days later, sheriff's investigators arrested Kelly.
Kelly is being held at the Kershaw County Detention Center on a murder charge. He could also face criminal sexual conduct and kidnapping charges in the future.
