Elections board agrees on salary for interim director

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

The Richland County Election Commission board has agreed on a salary for its newly appointed interim elections director.

Board members met in executive session Tuesday and voted in favor of $2,500 every two weeks for Samuel Selph -- that's about $65,000 a year.

Selph will be paid that amount until a permanent board director is appointed.

A former board member, Selph was appointed as interim director when the board voted 4 to 1 in favor of firing ex-director Howard Jackson.

Jackson has since had discussions with SLED agents about the board and even turned over information to investigators.
