Two arrested for making meth in motel near airport

Posted: Updated:

Two people have been arrested for manufacturing methamphetamine in a Springdale motel, according to Springdale Police Chief Kevin Cornett.

Officers began investigating after receiving an anonymous tip about drug activity taking place in a room at Carolina Lodge on Airport Boulevard.

Officers initially made contact with the occupants and detained one for outstanding warrants.

During that time officers observed methamphetamine making material in plain view, Cornett said. Officers executed a search warrant and found multiple methamphetamine making items, including multiple reaction vessels and additional evidence that the two had previously made methamphetamine in the room, according to the chief.

Officers arrested 26-year-old Samantha Driggers and 37-year-old Shane Lempp. Both were charged with manufacturing methamphetamine and possession of altered pseudoephedrine.

Members of the Lexington County Multi-Agency Narcotics Enforcement Team assisted the Springdale Police Department with dismantling and properly disposing of the lab.

Both were then transported to Lexington County Detention Center.
