Poll: Graham takes 45 percent of GOP support in primary

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - The latest Winthrop Poll finds U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham with a commanding lead over his potential primary opponents if the election were held today.

The poll shows Graham receiving the support of 45 percent of likely Republican primary voters -- a 36.5 point lead over the nearest challenger, state Sen. Lee Bright, who has 8.5 percent.

The other challengers, Richard Cash, Bill Connor, and Nancy Mace all hover within the range of receiving 3 percent of support.

However, most of these candidates still have room to grow since the poll shows 34.9 percent of respondents remain undecided.

At last check, Graham has over $7 million available in his re-election campaign account.

South Carolina Republican voters will decide between the five candidates in this June's primary.
