Jr. high student faces expulsion for taking pellet gun to school

MANNING, SC (WIS) -

A student at Manning Junior High School faces expulsion for carrying a pellet gun onto school property, Clarendon School District Two officials said Monday.

According to the Clarendon County Sheriff's Office, a school resource officer got the student out of class and recovered the firearm without incident.

The incident happened around 9:30 a.m.

Superintendent John Tindal said the school will recommend the student be expelled. The student has been removed from the school until a hearing can be held, said Tindal.

Sheriff's investigators have not said if the student will face any charges.

Nobody was injured.
