Posted: Updated:

WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Kids incarcerated in South Carolina have finished work on a second home for Habitat for Humanity.

On Friday, the Department of Juvenile Justice is scheduled to hold a dedication ceremony in West Columbia for the home that was built in partnership with Central South Carolina Habitat for Humanity.

Volunteers worked side-by-side with DJJ kids to build the house at the department's Columbia headquarters and later, when it was moved to a neighborhood in West Columbia.

This is the second home built in such a way by DJJ youth. Speakers at Friday's event include the home's new owner and department director Margaret Barber.
