Lexington-Richland 5 to dismiss early

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

Lexington-Richland School District Five will implement an early release of all students today.

Normal early dismissal procedures will be followed, and all afterschool and evening activities have been canceled.

  • Elementary schools and CrossRoads Middle School will release at 1 p.m.
  • Academy for Success will release at 1:40 p.m.
  • Center for Advanced Technical Studies and Spring Hill High School will release at 1:50 p.m.
  • Irmo Middle, Chapin Middle and Dutch Fork Middle will release at 2 p.m. 
  • Chapin High, Dutch Fork High and Irmo High will release at 2:10 p.m. 

District leaders will continue to monitor the weather conditions very closely to determine the status of school opening for Wednesday, February 12.  The district is working closely with several agencies including Lexington County Emergency Management and the National Weather Service to stay apprised of current weather conditions.
