COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

A state Juvenile Justice employee was arrested Friday and charged with assault after she was accused of stabbing a student with a fork.

Naja Woods, 31, was arrested by DJJ police and charged with third degree assault and battery, according to a spokesperson with the department.

That spokesperson said the incident happened at the Transitions House at the Broad River Road campus back on Dec. 17.

Officials don't know what lead to the stabbing, but they say Woods stabbed the student with a metal fork in the shoulder, chest, arm, and face.

The girl was treated at an onsite infirmary for scratches and puncture wounds.

Court records show Woods posted bond on the charge in January, and no attorney was listed for her. DJJ officials said they were in the process of firing Woods.
