ORANGEBURG COUNTY, SC (WIS) -

Orangeburg County Sheriff's deputies are now investigating a suspicious call phone call placed to Hunter-Kinard-Tyler High School.

Sheriff Leroy Ravenell says the phone call was a threat, but he did not reveal the full nature of the phone call.

A school resource officer was on campus at the time of the threat and placed the school in "emergency incident status," which had students and staff evacuate the school while investigators inspected schools and offices.

Students were allowed to return to school a short time later.

Ravenell says the incident is under investigation and charges are pending.
