GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

When Sandy Hudson whips into the Local Cue Sports Bar in Greenville, she heats up.

"Hence, Sandy Storm," Hudson said.

Hudson, or "Storm," often ices her competition in a game of darts.

"It is a sport, rather than a bar game," she said.

And this Storm is drenched in several titles. She's ranked no. 1 in the country in female darts by the American Darts Organization.

"There's a lot of practice and time involved," she said.

Hudson plays 501 and cricket, and has earned tournament titles and MVP awards in both dart games. And to be good, playing darts takes a lot of practice.

"It's all about hand-eye coordination," Hudson said. "I pick up for a little bit and throw for 45 minutes to an hour."

She has sponsors and her own signature darts, but most of all this is a sport she loves.

"I'm a very competitive person," Hudson said.

And now she said the goal is to get darts into the Olympic games. Until then, Hudson will move on to the next big tournament with the hope of wiping out the competition.

"You play to win," she said.

Hudson is featured in the book The Ultimate Book of Darts by Anne Kramer. Her next competition will be held in March in Augusta. She competes throughout the country and internationally.
