COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

Columbia Police have arrested two more men in connection with a shooting in July that injured a 4-year-old girl.

Police announced Tuesday they arrested 30-year-old Aaron Maurice Battle and 23-year-old Anthony Leroy Doctor.  They are charged with possession of a weapon by a person convicted of a violent crime and unlawful carrying of a pistol.

Investigators believe Battle and Doctor were among people in a vehicle who exchanged gunfire with other suspects in the case at Colony Apartments.  Marcus Gantt was arrested in July on several charges involving the shootout. He was indicted on several charges, including attempted murder.

4-year-old Zahara Walker, who was watching television in a nearby home on Bailey Street, was hit by a stray bullet. She was hospitalized for several weeks with a bullet wound to her lower back but she has recovered.

Police say Gantt and Doctor are validated gang members.  Investigators say the suspects are rival gang members and believe the shooting may have been gang-motivated.
