Police seek women who may be passing fraudulent checks

SUMTER, SC (WIS) -

Police are asking for the public's help in finding four Sumter women they believe have been passing fraudulent checks at local banks.

Police are looking for the following suspects:

Kimberly Burgess, 26. Her last known address is 635 S. Lafayette Drive. She is accused of passing a fraudulent check in the amount of $340 at SAFE Federal Credit Union on Lewis Road.

Essie McKenzie, 55. Her last known address is 221 Carver St. She is accused of passing a fraudulent check in the amount of $380 at NBSC on Broad Street.

Lakeisha McKenzie, 30. Her last known address is 720-B Miller Road. She is accused of passing a fraudulent check in the amount of $360 at NBSC on Broad Street.

Tiffany Wright, 31. Her last known address is 15 G Street. She is accused of passing a fraudulent check in the amount of $250 at NBSC on Broad Street.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Sumter Police Department at (803) 436-2700 or call Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIMESC. An award may be available for information leading to an arrest.
