Posted: Updated:

Ft. Dorchester alum Byron Maxwell had 4 tackles and forced a fumble helping the Seattle Seahawks win their 1st Super Bowl title beating the Denver Broncos 43-8.

Maxwell was part of a defense that held the high powered Broncos offense scoreless in the first half and gave up just one scoring drive at the end of the 3rd quarter.

The Cornerbacks biggest play came midway through the 3rd when he punched the ball out of the hands of Demaryius Thomas forcing a fumble that the Seahawks recovered.

"We focused on us. I was really about us at the end of the day." Maxwell told Newsday.

Maxwell's high school teammate, Bengals DE Carlos Dunlap, sent his congratulations over Instagram.

"As 2013 finally comes to close wanna say s/o and ConGratz to Homie BMax (Byron Maxwell) first of#LowCountrys #Big3 to get a ring. still more work to do but we can celebrate 2013 season!"

Maxwell joins Pierson Prioleau (Saints) and Omar Brown (Ravens) as Lowcountry natives who have won Super Bowls in the last decade. He also becomes the 1st Clemson alum to win a Super Bowl since Anthony Waters in 2010.
