CAYCE, SC (WIS) -

The Cayce Department of Public Safety arrested three people after officers spotted a mobile meth lab in their vehicle.

Brandi M. Joiner, 25, James W. Gleaton, 28, and Rodney L. Williamson, 33, are facing several charges including manufacturing methamphetamine and shoplifting.

Lt. J.S. Simmons with the Cayce Department of Public Safety said officers responded to a shoplifting call at a Dollar General on Charleston Highway Thursday afternoon and were given a description of the suspects car as it was seen leaving the location by store employees.

A short time later, officers conducted a traffic stop at Charleston Hwy and Frink St. and noticed smoke was being emitted by a container in the vehicle, Simmons said.

"Upon further investigation officers discovered a rolling methamphetamine lab in production causing the smoke and fumes," Simmons said. "Officers of the Cayce Methamphetamine Lab Removal Team and SLED were summoned to the scene to gather evidence and dispose of the materials by proper means."

All three are facing multiple charges for the manufacture of methamphetamines and other charges to include the shoplifting of a package of undergarments, Simmons said.

The suspects were transported to the Lexington County Detention Center where they await a bond hearing for their charges.
