NEW YORK, NY (NBC) - The uniforms the U.S. Olympic team will be wearing for Sochi's opening and closing ceremonies were unveiled on the Today Show Thursday morning.

Two members of the U.S. curling team joined the Today team for the unveiling.

Colored in red, white and navy, the uniforms by Ralph Lauren could be described as very patriotic. Designers say the quilt design is deliberate.

"Ralph Lauren was inspired by the classic Americana patchwork quilts and sweaters," said Ralph Lauren executive David Lauren. "So we're trying to do something by hand made in America, so we're very excited."

"We're very excited and very thrilled to be walking in the opening and closing ceremonies wearing this gear," said Jessica Schultz. "It's great."

"It's awesome," Jared Zezel. "It's 100 percent American, too... So I mean it's very patriotic looking. It's great. We'll look very good."

The 2014 XXII Olympic Winter Games begin February 6. NBC will broadcast the opening ceremony February 7.
